A series of high-impact insurance acquisitions have been confirmed across the sector in the last 24 hours, highlighting continued consolidation and targeted expansion across specialty and advisory-focused lines – Radian, Gallagher, etc.
Radian Expands Into Specialty Insurance With $1.67 Billion Deal
Radian Group Inc. has completed the acquisition of Inigo Limited, a Lloyd’s of London specialty insurance group, strengthening its position in global specialty insurance markets.
The transaction, first announced in September 2025, closed at a purchase price of $1.67 billion, net of adjustments. The deal values Inigo at approximately 1.4x its estimated tangible equity of $1.16 billion at year-end 2025 and was funded primarily with cash.

Radian said the acquisition will double annual revenue and enhance capital deployment flexibility across multiple insurance lines. CEO Rick Thornberry described the transaction as a “milestone” in Radian’s long-term growth strategy.

Marsh McLennan Agency Adds Marine Insurance Specialist
Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) has acquired Robinson & Son LLC, a New York-based agency specializing in marine insurance and maritime risk.
Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Hudson Falls, New York, Robinson & Son provides property and casualty coverage with a strong focus on marine exposures. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
All employees, including co-founder James Robinson, will join MMA and continue operating from the agency’s current location.
Gallagher Strengthens Employee Benefits Consulting for Banks
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has announced the acquisition of Hunt Benefits & Associates Inc. and Tenaglia & Associates Inc., which operate collectively as Hunt Financial Group.
Based in North Carolina and South Carolina, Hunt Financial Group advises banking and financial institutions on employee benefits strategy. The firm will continue operating under Gallagher’s U.S. Financial and Retirement Services division.
Simplicity Group Acquires Disability Insurance Specialist
Simplicity Group has acquired Source Brokerage LLC, an Indianapolis-based brokerage general agency focused on disability insurance (DI).
The acquisition expands Simplicity’s national DI platform and adds Steve Crowe, founder of Source Brokerage, as a partner. The move reinforces Simplicity’s strategy of building specialized, advisor-centric insurance distribution networks.
Meiji Yasuda Completes $2.3 Billion U.S. Life Insurance Acquisition
Meiji Yasuda Group has finalized its $2.3 billion acquisition of Banner Life Insurance Company and William Penn Life Insurance Company of New York from Legal & General Group plc.
The transaction, announced in February 2025, includes:
- U.S. term life insurance operations
- A large pension risk transfer (PRT) business
Banner Life by the numbers:
- Third-largest U.S. term life insurer
- Over 1.6 million policyholders were insured in 2025
- More than $14 billion in pension risk transfer premiums have been written across 130 transactions since 2015
Following the acquisition, Banner Life becomes Meiji Yasuda’s primary U.S. life insurance platform and its sole pension risk transfer business in the United States.
